Boots on the Ground Jul 11, 2010
Let me just say that the outpouring of support I’ve received from this contest has made me a very happy girl. I knew I had a good video, but the sheer numbers silent and vocal Team Oakhurst members have turned up during phase two have astounded me.
First, I would like to thank everyone who…

Reining Vs. Dressage Jul 7, 2010
I’m not sure that I could put a western saddle on a horse without assistance. It’s been about six years since I’ve sat in a western saddle and probably about 25 years since I’ve actually tacked a western horse up. I know I couldn’t heave a western saddle up onto 17.2 hand Frankie, and I’m…

Kristine Oakhurst's Original Contest Entry
It’s not hard to appreciate the level of athleticism shown at the FEI levels of each discipline.
The most athletic horses have to be the showjumpers.
Eventing horses have the heart.
Seeing a team of horses galloping with a carriage is nothing short of thrilling.
Acrobatics on horseback will continue to induce childhood dreams of extreme horseback riding—or what they call Vaulting.
Dressage will always be, to me, dancing horses. Though precise, and much more detail orientated, still horses dancing.
Sliding stops, spins, and probably the best-trained horses are going to be the Reiners.
I can get into it all.
The WEG is going to be sweet.
